What Demographic Are They Aiming At?

I realize that the various curling associations around the world would like to interest more young people in the sport. But let's face it, by and large the fans of curling are older.

Do the folks who run these events really think that playing loud music between ends will suddenly attract more younger people without driving away even more older folks? The music in the tie-breaker is painfully loud... so loud I'd want my money back if I were a paying customer.

And to have it going, very loud, even when the leads are throwing their stones perturbs me considerably, given the requests that fans turn off their cell phones so as not to disturb the curlers.

Given their records so far and given their respective curling percentages, there is only one game tonight that looks to be close. But as we know, anything can happen, so I doubt if any one of the teams will be over-confident.

• Sheet A: Canada should be favoured to defeat the US
• Sheet B: Czech should be favoured to defeat Korea
• Sheet C: Switzerland should be favoured to defeat Denmark
• Sheet D: France looks good so far, but they're playing the enigmatic Norway.

My plan for the evening is just to comment randomly across the sheets but not follow any specific game in detail. After all one of the reasons I love the live round robin tournaments is I get to follow different games at different times.
