What Is With China?

As Alan wrote, Sweden is exerting itself as a force at the 2011 Men's World Curling Championship in Regina. Let me add, so is Scotland. But what is with China?? They lost 9-1 to Sweden this morning, and then as I arrived at the arena this afternoon, I watched them lose to the Swiss 7-1. The back end just hasn't been curling well, but I'd have expected at least a competitive game, not a walkover, in any of their matches. These losses today after their loss last night to Czech. I was expecting better, so I wonder what is happening.
